Day meetings, long lunches and parties that run into the evening.

The same hall, lawn and kitchen as our weddings, for corporate days, birthdays, a summer Christmas and New Year's Eve.

An hour from the city's noise, with a timber hall, our own kitchen and nobody else on the estate that day.

Events run on weekdays, Fridays and Sundays, because Saturdays usually go to weddings. We take one booking a day, so your group has the hall, the pavilion, the walled garden and the lawn to itself.

Corporate events

Conferences, offsites, team days, launches and client dinners, a long way from the office.

A long meeting table and chairs on timber floorboards, with tall windows in the room beyond
A bright meeting room with a wall screen, a long white table and grey chairs on a parquet floor
Cappuccinos and slices of cake on a round timber table

Which spaces suit it

The Reception Hall is the main room: 220 theatre style facing the screens, 120 cabaret at rounds, or 36 around one long boardroom table. The Tack Room (12 seats) and the Hayloft (20 at a table, 30 theatre style) sit off the hall for breakout sessions, and the Garden Pavilion takes 120 for a talk in the open air.

Typical numbers

Most day meetings are 20 to 120 people. Launches and client evenings run up to 250 standing.

Food and drink

The kitchen caters the whole day: coffee and something baked on arrival, a mid morning break, a long working lunch at shared tables, and afternoon tea. Client dinners are a set menu at long tables in the hall, with wines chosen at a tasting.

How the day runs

Day meetings run from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Many groups stay on for drinks on the lawn and dinner in the hall, which finishes like every evening here, with music ending at 11:30 pm.

The day-meeting setup

  • Two large screens and a ceiling projector in the hall
  • A lectern and two wireless microphones
  • Fast wifi across the hall, the pavilion and both side rooms
  • Whiteboards and flip charts in the side rooms
  • Catering through the day, from arrival coffee to afternoon tea
  • Free parking for cars and coaches beside the hall

Birthdays and milestone parties

Thirtieth, fortieth, sixtieth or ninetieth: a long table, good food and a hall for the dancing.

A birthday cake glowing with lit letter candles in a dark room
A timber table seen from above, set with plates, a cake and a runner of eucalyptus and small flowers
A glass of red wine on an outdoor timber table at dusk, with festoon lights glowing along the rail behind

Which spaces suit it

A long lunch for up to 60 fits in the Walled Garden. Bigger parties take the Reception Hall, with dinner for up to 160 and the dance floor in, or drinks and canapés for up to 250 standing.

Typical numbers

Most birthday parties here are 40 to 150 guests.

Food and drink

A seated dinner, a long shared table, or canapés and a late supper for a party that wants to keep moving. Bring your own cake and the kitchen will plate and serve it.

How the day runs

Guests usually arrive in the late afternoon for drinks on the lawn, sit down as the light goes, and dance in the hall until the music ends at 11:30 pm.

Christmas and end-of-year parties

A summer Christmas: long light evenings, the bar on the lawn, and dinner under the festoons.

Summer punch and cranberry drinks with rosemary and pine on a rustic timber table
A sunny table with fresh fruit, orange juice and small plates on timber
A cupped hand holding a strand of warm fairy lights in the dark

Which spaces suit it

Christmas here is in summer, so most parties begin outside. The lawn takes up to 250 for drinks, with an outdoor bar by the hall doors, and the hall seats up to 180 for dinner. A Christmas long lunch for up to 120 can be laid on the lawn itself, with the hall kept ready if it rains.

Typical numbers

Office parties are usually 40 to 200 people.

Food and drink

A summer Christmas long lunch, a seated dinner, or canapés all evening. Think cold seafood, roast stone fruit, glazed ham carved at the table and pavlova, alongside the kitchen’s usual seasonal menu.

How the day runs

End-of-year parties run on the Fridays and Saturdays of early December. The light lasts until after eight, so drinks stay on the lawn, dinner moves into the hall at dusk, and the music ends at 11:30 pm.

New Year's Eve

One private party a year, and the one night the music plays past midnight.

Rows of glowing paper lanterns set out across the lawn at night
Two coupes of sparkling wine against a dark background
Strings of party lights glowing softly against the night

Which spaces suit it

The whole estate is yours: drinks on the lawn as the sun goes down, dinner in the hall for up to 160 with the dance floor in, or a standing party for up to 250.

Typical numbers

Up to 250 guests.

Food and drink

A long dinner, or canapés through the evening, with the late supper served after midnight for the dancers.

How the day runs

New Year's Eve is the one night with a later finish: music runs until 12:30 am and guests leave the grounds by 1 am. Fireworks and sparklers are not allowed on the estate because of the livestock in the next fields, so we count down on the lawn under the festoon lights, glass in hand.

Engagements, anniversaries and long lunches

Which spaces suit it

The Walled Garden is made for a long lunch of up to 60. The Garden Pavilion seats 80 at long tables with open sides onto the lawn, and the hall takes bigger family gatherings.

Typical numbers

Anywhere from 30 to 180 guests.

Food and drink

Shared platters down the middle of the table, a set seasonal menu, or a relaxed afternoon of canapés and a cheese table.

How the day runs

Long lunches usually run from midday into the late afternoon. Evening parties follow the estate’s usual finish, with music ending at 11:30 pm.

How event bookings work

Plain answers to what organisers ask first. More in the FAQs.

Which days events run

Events run on weekdays, Fridays and Sundays. Saturdays usually go to weddings, though in December a few Saturdays are kept for end-of-year parties. We take one booking a day, so your group has the estate to itself.

Holding a date

Tell us your date, your numbers and what kind of event you have in mind. We will hold a free date for seven days while you decide, just as we do for weddings.

Pricing

We do not publish prices. Pricing is shared after a viewing, once we know your date, numbers and menu, so the figure you see is the one you pay.

Seeing the estate first

Viewings run on Saturdays from 10 am and on some weekday evenings. Event organisers are welcome to bring a colleague, and the events team will walk you through the day meeting setup in the hall.
